The Nordic Culture Fund developed the Handmade program after recognising several initiatives that sought to explore the nature of the crafts in a range of artistic genres. The fund wanted to contribute to these exciting developments and contemporary trends by supporting several material-based art and culture projects.
In 2016-2018, the Handmade program aimed to reinforce the trends by encouraging the multidisciplinary art field into broader networking and to renew the definitions of artistic disciplines themselves. Handmade has supported both the development of new project ideas and collaborative projects that transcend boundaries between nationalities, artistic disciplines and traditional divisions connected to crafts with a total of 7.700.000 DKK.
We have now published a catalogue which presents 33 unique Handmade projects and shows a new picture of the handmade. We wish that the new catalogue will inspire and contribute to new collaborations and projects in the future.
You can open and download the catalogue here (pdf).
