How can the Nordic Region adapt cultural life so that people with disabilities have the same opportunities to participate in cultural activities and create art themselves? The Nordic Culture Fund will be discussing these issues at the conference, which is being organised by the Nordic Council of Ministers.
The conference Konst och kultur för alla will take place in Stockholm on 1 September.
During the conference, various cultural and political actors will discuss the obstacles that exist in cultural life. In addition, examples of adapted cultural education, cultural experiences and artistic expression will be presented.
The Fund’s director Benny Marcel will participate in a panel discussion to discuss the existing barriers and look at possible solutions for a more inclusive cultural life. The focus will be on these themes:
Other participants in the panel discussion are Kajsa Ravin, Director General of the Swedish Arts Council, Gunn Hernes, Stjòri / Director of the Nordic House in the Faroe Islands, Eva Buschmann, the Norwegian Federation of Organisations of Disabled People, Andreas Ehres, Project Manager of the art project “Er det plass for meg?” in Oslo, Lars-Göran Wadén, Project Manager, idea maker and developer of the TK app, and Mindy Drapsa, Artistic Director, Riksteatern Crea.
The conference takes place on 1 September from 9-16 at Moderna Museet in Stockholm and is organised by the Nordic Council of Ministers for Culture and the Nordic Council of Ministers for Health and Social Affairs and implemented by the Nordic Welfare Centre.
