Voice is fundamental to our sense of identity and participation in the world. The SENSORIUM project brings together arts, technology, and community-driven co-creation to generate new possibilities for developing creative and authentic expressions of voice, in all its forms – physical, social, cultural, and democratic.
In a fusion of art, technology and co-creation processes, SENSORIUM explores how the voice is a central artistic, physical, social and democratic tool. The project will investigate how the voice can be expressed in new artistic and authentic ways.
The main objective of the SENSORIUM project is to strengthen the voices of people with voice-related disabilities, speech impairments and atypical speech patterns – both in terms of physical voice and expression, as well as voice in terms of social and democratic inclusion.
The project is led by Copenhagen-based knowledge center EnactLab (DK) and non-profit arts production compay VisionIntoArt (US). Furthermore, the project consits of a broad range of artistic and technological partners, including NYU Ability Project (US), Artscape Theater (ZA) and ARUP – Raj Patel (US).
Enact:Lab is a motley crew of researchers, consultants, artists, and activists who all want to make the world a place where we can all live and thrive no matter who we are.
In the Lab they conduct research projects that leads to new knowledge on creating real, structural change. But even more importantly, the Lab is where Enact:Lab turn knowledge and research into applicable and practical tools and actions to drive structural change.
