The third meeting in the series of network meetings Curated Conversations gathers participants from different Nordic countries to discuss new perspectives on art economy. The meeting is organized in collaboration with the Nordic House in Reykjavik, Think Tank a/nordi/c and the Nordic Culture Fund.
The conditions for art in Nordic societies have traditionally been discussed in terms of public funding, support systems and priorities within the public welfare economy. In recent years, it has become clear that this perspective is no longer sufficient when talking about the work and livelihoods of artists and creative actors.
The aim of the meeting is therefore to broaden the perception of the framework of the arts and explore how we can build together pathways to a more sustainable and equitablefuture.
Through a broad representation of different sectors and disciplines, and by breaking away from traditional meeting and workshop formats, Curated Conversations will foster new ways of discussing the most complex issues of the artistic field.
The meeting is part of an ongoing partnership between key Nordic cultural actors, which will organize a series of cultural policy network meetings between now and 2024. The partnership includes Think Tank a/nordi/c, the Cultural Center for Sweden and Finland Hanaholmen, the Nordic House in the Faroe Islands, the Nordic House in Reykjavik, the Nordic Institute in Åland, the Nordic Institute in Greenland and the Nordic Culture Fund.
The second meeting of the partnership took place at the Hanaholmen Cultural Center in Finland in November 2022. You can read more about the meeting here.
