The Committee has published a joint statement in connection with official negotiations on the Nordic budget for 2023.
In the statement the Ministers for Nordic Co-operation are called to reconsider their decision to finance green investments with funds from the education and culture sectors, as these are crucial for achieving the vision of the Nordic Region being the world’s most sustainable and integrated region by 2030.
The budget has been discussed in public before the decision, due to concerns regarding significant cuts in the financing of cultural and educational cooperation during years 2021-2024
The Committee for Knowledge and Culture in the Nordic Region works with topics and issues relating to culture, research and education, primary and secondary schools, adult education and general education – including matters of language co-operation, new media, skills development, and innovation in study programmes.
