As part of Globus, the Fund has started a partnership with IFACCA (International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies) that will allow us to include participants from the Global South at IFACCA’s 9th World Summit in Stockholm on 3-5 May 2023.
IFACCA is the global network of arts councils, ministries of culture and government agencies promoting arts and culture, with member institutions representing over 70 countries.
The Nordic Culture Fund is an associate member of the network.
When we discuss artistic freedom and artistic identity in a global perspective, we need diverse and global participation. This is why Globus has entered into a partnership with IFACCA (International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies), which allows us to invite member countries and/or participants from the Global South who would otherwise be barred from participating.
IFACCA’s 9th World Summit on Arts and Culture will bring together leading policymakers, researchers, managers and arts and culture practitioners from around the world to explore artistic freedom as a fundamental pillar of cultural policy. The meeting will be held in Stockholm, Sweden from 3 to 5 May 2023.
The aim of the partnership between IFACCA and the Nordic Culture Fund is to develop a network of participants from the Global South at the 9th World Summit on Arts and Culture in Stockholm in May. The Nordic Culture Fund will through this initiative more proactively include the Global South in their thematic focus: Globus, and IFACCA will be able to contribute to this by reaching out to Member States and/or participants who would otherwise not be able to attend the World Summit.
The underlying goal is to develop the project into a partnership with closer collaboration, through which the partners can follow the projects over a delimited period of time – gathering crucial knowledge – for the Foundation for the further development of Globus, further anchoring of the projects’ experiences and stimulating cultural policy development in the Nordic region.
